Helping busy professionals navigate work and life

Why should you work with a coach?

You’ve worked hard to achieve success in your career and personal life. Change is an inevitable (and necessary) part of life, and it’s amazing what these transitions can unlock. The trick is that these experiences require new strategies but they come at moments when you have the least time to formulate them. With the right guidance imagine how you can thrive during times of change such as when you’ve been promoted when you become a parent, the first time you manage others (or a larger team), when you’re facing burn-out, or when you’re ready to make a career change? Working with a coach allows you to step back and consider not only what you can do but how you’ll approach the situation. Rather than falling back on old patterns, Karen will help you examine yourself and assumptions you may be making, reframe the situation, and ultimately get the distance to learn more about yourself and see the opportunities that are in front of you.

In the Media

I’m Karen Rubin

I’m a results-oriented Executive Coach and Facilitator who helps individuals at all stages of their careers. I’ve coached hundreds of clients at Fortune 500 companies, start-ups, and everything in between, in sectors including entertainment, technology, financial services, the law, healthcare, professional services, retail, energy, insurance, and more. My passion is transforming moments of uncertainty into inflection points of opportunity and providing the strategic support that helps people achieve their full potential.

I understand the challenges many of my clients face in the workplace because I’ve lived it myself. I’m a former sales and marketing executive in the entertainment industry, mother of 3 kids (in 4 years), and spouse of a former CEO whose career precipitated multiple cross-country moves. I know the struggle to get it all done and wish I’d had a coach during the thick of it, someone who might have helped me consider options other than stepping out of the paid workforce. In hindsight, I see how my choices opened new doors and allowed me to experience the unexpected, but I could have done without the worry, guilt, and self-doubt. This is what fuels my passion to help my clients during those crunch moments. I help them crystallize their priorities, make choices that honor what’s most important to them, stretch outside of their comfort zones, and develop strategies to have the career and life they want.

How it Works

  • Individual Coaching

Sessions can be set up virtually (phone or video) or in person. I utilize the principles of evidence-based coaching which draw from social science research about how people learn. Combining self-awareness with accountability, you’ll utilize real-world practice in order to create new habits and make positive changes in your life. Optional 360 and/or Hogan assessments can provide additional insight into how you’re perceived by key stakeholders.

  • Group Coaching

It leverages the power of community, strengthens bonds among colleagues, fosters a culture of learning, and normalizes issues an individual may believe they alone are facing.

    Options include:

    • Small group in-person workshops or series

    • Large group in-person workshops or trainings

    • Virtual webinars for small or large groups

    • Individual coaching or mentoring can be used to supplement the group experience and allow employees to dive deeper into their specific situation

Want to know more?

People who work with coaches have support, an outside perspective. They’re more likely to make bolder choices, and, in the end, get to a different and more satisfying outcome. There’s a reason writers have editors, athletes have coaches, and satisfied professionals have a system of support. If you’re facing a change or simply want to feel more calm and confident, Karen can help you identify the change you want to make and then work with you to make it happen.
